The works for Bauer were only produced for one year as the heavy glazes ended up damaging the kilns.
Russel Wright (1904 - 1976) is widely considered one of the most important American designers of the 20th Century. Beginning in the late 1920s through the 1960s, Russel Wright created a succession of artistically distinctive and commercially successful items that helped bring modern design to the general public. Introduced in 1939, Russel Wright’s American Modern line for Bauer garnered appeal with its trademark curvy silhouettes, rounded corners, and earthy colors.
